Not every pantry needs to feel like an afterthought.
For this office fit-out, the brief was simple: give the team a corner they’d actually want to linger in. What we built is part pantry, part gallery — a small commercial space that punches well above its footprint.
A concealed LED strip runs the length of the floating shelf and skirts the base of the cabinetry, so the room reads warm and inviting long after the overheads switch off. Every surface was chosen to hold up to daily office use without losing its character.
Deep olive shaker cabinetry, a floating walnut shelf with built-in lighting, and a geometric terrazzo floor that grounds the whole space — styled with greenery, books and small objects that make it feel considered rather than corporate.
A hand-carved koi relief, backlit and set into a slate-blue niche, anchors the corridor leading into the pantry — a deliberate flourish that turns a walkway into a talking point.
A koi sculpture on a terrazzo plinth greets you at the entrance, echoed in the mural further down the hall — a small motif that ties the whole corridor together, alongside a rattan-fronted credenza used to display material and finish samples.
This one turned a working pantry into a space the whole office looks forward to.
